Rastko Obradovic is a Serbian saxophonist and composer whose work explores the meeting points between jazz, Balkan traditions, Scandinavian influences, Indian classical music, and contemporary improvisation. Born in Belgrade in 1995, he has established himself as a distinctive voice on the European jazz scene, recognized for his expressive sound and cross-cultural approach to music.

Since beginning his professional career in 2013, Obradovic has performed as a bandleader and sideman, collaborating with internationally acclaimed musicians including Dhafer Youssef, Arkady Shilkloper, Bojan Z, Vasil Hadzimanov, Sudeshna Bhattacharya, Vladimir Kostadinovic, Marko Djordjevic & SVETI, and others. His performances have taken him to renowned European stages and festivals, including Moers, Jazz in Marciac, the Belgrade Jazz Festival, Theatre d'Orleans, the Serbian National Theatre in Novi Sad, and the Belgrade Philharmonic.

His artistic projects are rooted in a fascination with musical dialogue across cultures. His collaboration with Indian sarodist Sudeshna Bhattacharya developed into Nebula Serai, a trio featuring Alexander Hoholm on bass, blending Indian classical music, jazz, Balkan heritage, and Scandinavian influences. His Northern Experience Quartet, presented at the 35th Belgrade Jazz Festival in 2019, resulted in the album The Northern Experience (AMP Music & Records), exploring the relationship between improvisation, atmosphere, and composition. His collaboration with pianist Bojan Zulfikarasic on Wabi Sabi further reflects his interest in creating music beyond stylistic boundaries.

Since 2020, Obradovic has been a member of the Serbian Radio Television Big Band, where he performs as first alto saxophonist, contributing to concerts, recordings, and cultural programs of Serbia's leading jazz orchestra.

In recognition of his contribution to the jazz scene, Obradovic received the "New Hope" award in 2018 from the Association of Jazz, Popular, and Rock Musicians of Serbia, presented at the GODUM ceremony.

Through his performances, collaborations, and original projects, Rastko Obradovic continues to expand the possibilities of contemporary jazz, building a unique musical language that connects diverse traditions and creative perspectives.
